Canadian Spirit: The Tom Thomson Experience continues

This ongoing exhibition gives visitors an educational and entertaining introduction into Tom Thomson’s life, his connections with Owen Sound and Grey County, and the factors that led him to become one of Canada’s greatest artists. Canadian Spirit: The Tom Thomson Experience is made up of the TOM’s important collection of objects, photos, documents and artworks by Thomson.

Summerfolk Tom Thomson Mural Recreation, Northern Lights, painted by Rosalynn Aiken-Hall, the TOM’s cooperative education student,  Part of the TOM’s Canadian Spirit 2012-2017 Offsite Public Art Program For Canadian Spirit 2017: Someday They Will Know What I Mean, the Tom Thomson Art Gallery will be re-creating the 1915 painting Northern Lights from its permanent collection. The TOM's Visual Storage The Permanent Collection at the Tom Thomson Art Gallery contains work which spans over 160 years and includes many different forms of art—paintings, photographs, sculptures, textiles, installation pieces and even a Kawasaki motorcycle.
