The Ripple Project

Draw Water!       Make Waves!    Do a water doodle!

Julia White invites you to participate in Great Art for Great Lakes’ the Ripple Project, a collaborative art initiative that celebrates our Great Lake Huron. Listen to water speak for itself and let the feelings it inspires lead you into the creative flow. Be a ripple maker!

Draw your own personal ‘water offering’ in celebration of water, then place it in the hole in the base of the sculpture. All contributions are welcome, no matter how big or small. All pieces will be displayed in the gallery on the ‘Ripple Wall’ and also online on the ‘Web Water Portal’. The collective water drawings will be gathered by White who will synthesize elements of each contribution into one flowing design that will become laser-cut steel sculptures. The final ‘Water Columns’ will be lit from within with watery blue light will be housed in the Roxy Theatre, Owen Sound.

In this way we will make ripples in our community and our world as we connect to what makes our lake so important to us.

All contributors are invited to the Ripple Project unveiling at the Roxy Theatre in Owen Sound, on October 27, 7-9 p.m. Come out to celebrate and find your water doodle in the final design!
