The Tom Thomson Art Gallery draws diverse audiences from the region and around the world, making historic and contemporary art accessible to all who visit. Your contributions enable The TOM to present powerful exhibitions and engaging programs that make this museum a dynamic and treasured institution for Owen Sound and beyond. There are a number of ways that you can donate to The TOM.
The Annual Fund provides substantial support for the Gallery to stage major exhibitions and offer engaging programming for you. Your gift to the Annual Fund, whether $20 or $200, will benefit the Tom Thomson Art Gallery and provide you with an additional tax deduction.
Please consider making a gift to the Annual Fund. Your contribution will ensure that the TOM continues to be a source of inspiration, enjoyment, and education for you and our community.
In honour of our 50th anniversary at the TOM we are running a campaign to celebrate our history within the community while also looking towards the future. We are asking for a one-time donation of $50 which will be placed toward the Gallery’s next 50 years of engaging programming, exhibitions and sharing Tom Thomson’s story. Tax Receipts available upon request. For more information please contact Suzanne Watson (email@example.com).
What is a Planned Gift?
A planned gift is a charitable donation arranged during a donor’s lifetime, directing some or all of the donor’s estate to the Tom Thomson Art Gallery – either now or in the future. Your donation can be made with a specific purpose in mind, and tailored to suit your particular interests and preferences.
You can designate the Tom Thomson Art Gallery as a beneficiary of your will. Your bequest can be a specific dollar amount, a specific asset, or a percentage or residue of your estate. The Tom Thomson Art Gallery can provide you with basic bequest language. We also encourage you to consult with your tax, financial and/or legal advisors about your personal situation and long-term goals.

You can designate the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia as a beneficiary of your qualified retirement plan.
Life Insurance Policy

Gifts of Artwork
You can donate a gift of artwork to the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia, either giving it outright or retaining use of the artwork during your lifetime. Visit Acquisitions for more information.
Gifts of Securities
Securities, such as stocks or bonds, help the Gallery in the present. They also provide significant tax benefits to a donor.
Put money aside in an investment vehicle of your choice. Or leave it to us to invest with our existing endowments. The capital is preserved and the income used for designated Gallery purposes as specified by you.
Your Gift is Appreciated
The Gallery takes great care and pride in acknowledging and recognizing our donors. When you inform us of your intention to leave a planned gift you will be welcomed into the Gallery’s Heritage Society. By sharing your plans during your lifetime, you will help us to ensure your Art Gallery of Nova Scotia legacy is fulfilled.
No matter why you choose to make a planned gift to the Tom Thomson Art Gallery, your generosity is much appreciated. Donations support the Gallery’s mission – Engaging People with Art. They also support innovative public and education programming that enriches the lives of Canadians from all walks of life.
