CANADIAN SPIRIT EXPERIENCE

CANADIAN SPIRIT EXPERIENCE AT SUMMERFOLK  2014

August 15 – 17, 2014 at Kelso Beach, Owen Sound

The Canadian Spirit Experience at Summerfolk is one of the main events of the Canadian Spirit project. This annual, multi-arts Festival will include a culinary stage in 2014 called Homegrown. The ethos behind Homegrown is just as the name implies…all things homegrown. From culinary vendors, to craft beer, wine and spirits, to a farmers’ market, cooking demonstrations featuring talented local chefs, musicians and entertainers…Homegrown will celebrate the taste of our region.

In addition to Homegrown, the Canadian Spirit Experience at Summerfolk plays host to varied entertainment at the Kelso Beach Amphitheatre, youth and family friendly art workshops, First Nations programming curated in partnership with Saugeen First Nation, PLUS educational based, hands on programming from Elephant Thoughts.

CANADIAN SPIRIT EXPERIENCE ATTRACTIONS

NEW FOR 2014 – Homegrown @ CS

Homegrown @ CSE is a new attraction for 2014.  The ethos behind Homegrown is just as the name implies…all things homegrown.

From culinary vendors, to craft beer, wine and spirits, to farm vendors and musicians, entertainers and celebrity chefs Homegrown seeks to celebrate all things local.  We are pleased to introduce Michael Stadtlander as our culinary specialist this year.  He will be doing demonstrations as well as serving you in his bus bistro.

First Nation Programming

20130922-3699

In celebration with our First Nation partners, the Canadian Spirit Experience at Summerfolk will continue highlight the contributions of our First Nations to Canada’s rich and diverse cultural landscape.

Come join our friends from local First Nation communities as they offer a plethora of on-site programming during the festival including traditional Aboriginal arts and crafts, storytelling, dance, drum circles, interactive art and culinary sessions, keynote speakers and food stalls.

Family Fun

Our super-fun family area is programmed by Elephant Thoughts! Kids of all ages will love the Hamster Ball Racetrack, the Human Gyroscope, a giant bubble station and a Science Tent with live animals. Parents will love that their programming has been designed to complement the provincial science and mathematics curricla. Let Elephant Thoughts demonstrate how exciting science and the study of the natural world can be!
